Sending You Hugs

Hi Everyone, it’s Priscilla here. Today I have a card that “sends hugs” to a friend you’ve been thinking about, featuring the new Joy Clair digital stamp set, “God Guides.”

This digital stamp collection features seven elements: three gorgeous floral images and four sentiments scripted in elegant fonts.

Here are the steps I followed in designing this card:

1. I created an A2 card panel from white card stock and laid MFT’s “English Brick” stencil over the right side of the panel.
2. Mixed a small amount of white embossing paste with Catherine Pooler‘s “Suede Shoes” ink refill and spread it over the stencil to create a blue brick background.
3. Die cut two of the floral images from the digital collection with my Brother “Scan N Cut” and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers.
4. Adhered these images to the front of the card once the blue embossing paste had dried.
5. Die cut “hugs” and colored this sentiment with the same rust-colored marker used on the floral image on the right and adhered to the top left of the panel.
6. Foam-mounted the pre-printed sentiment, “Sending You” above the “hugs” die cut.
7. Added a narrow strip of rust card stock on the right side of the panel.
8. Adhered the finished panel to an A2 scored card base.
9. Added three “Dark Blue Jewels” from Kat Scrappiness for a finishing touch.
