The inspiration for today’s card was the April 2018 “Inspiration Challenge” sponsored by Altenew. The pink, purple, and blue color combo came together beautifully to create a galaxy background for my “Blue Moon”.

I started by blending a variety of Altenew pink, purple, and blue crisp dye inks on to  4” x 5.25” Neenah  80# card stock, and then darkened the edges with Altenew’s “Jet Black” ink. I sprayed the blended card stock with water and blotted it, before adding splatters of white using Copic  “Opaque White Pigment ink”.

I used several of Altenew’s blue inks and their “To the Moon” layering stamp set to create my “Blue Moon”. I stamped the top layer again with VeraMark  embossing ink and heat set it with Brutus Monroe’s “Icicle” ultra-fine embossing powder. I die-cut and foam-mounted the moon on to my front panel.

I stamped one of the stamp set’s sentiments, “Shoot the Moon” onto to the front panel using Altenew  “Sapphire” crisp die ink and then heat embossed the word “Moon” using Ranger  “Platinum” embossing powder.

The front panel was adhered to a navy panel and then on to an A2 Neenah  solar white 110# card stock base.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card!
