It’s an unlikely combination, but I wanted to pair the beauty of Picket Fence Studio’s “Beautiful Girls – Kiki” image with the ruggedness of the new Tim Holtz “3-D Texture Fades” embossing folder, approximately named “Mechanics.” The background of cogs & gears is an unlikely, but striking backdrop to spotlight a beautiful girl with flowers in her hair.
This card was super simple to make! I cut a piece of heavy weight black card stock and sprayed it lightly with water before embossing it in my Big Shot with the Tim Holtz “Mechanics” embossing folder. Then I used a new-to-me product, Prima’s Art Alchemy Antique Brilliance wax in “Mystic Turquoise” and buffed it with a sponge into the surface of the embossed card stock. Wow! Did this product bring out the 3-D texture even more! Next, I buffed in some Tim Holtz “Distress Micro Glaze” over the embossing to add a slight gloss finish to the surface.
With the background done, I stamped the “Kiki” image onto a die cut piece of white cardstock using VersaFine “Onyx Black” pigment ink and then heat embossed it using Brutus Monroe’s clear embossing powder. I centered the image on the blue embossed background before adhering it onto an A2 card base.
Finishing touches? A touch of bright red lipstick with the “Carmine Red” Zig Real Brush Marker was all this beauty needed!
I hope you enjoyed today’s card!
