Father’s Day Card using Hero Arts Jean Jacket Layering Stencils

Denim never goes out of style—and neither do handmade cards! 👖✨ Today I’m sharing a fun Father’s Day card featuring the Jean Jacket Layering Stencil Set from the Friends with Flair Collection by Hero Arts. This clever five-layer stencil set lets you build either the front or the back of a classic jean jacket. And for this card, I chose the front for a cool, casual look. I blended three different shades of blue ink to create a traditional denim style, but the possibilities don’t stop there—imagine a jacket in bright pink, lime green, or any color that fits your vibe! Paired with a couple of simple sentiments, this design is a stylish way to let Dad know you like his style and wish him a Happy Father’s Day. 👕💙

📋 Card Details:

  • Created a white A2 Top Fold Card Base.
  • Adhered a layer of copper cardstock to the front of the card base.
  • Cut a slightly smaller layer of white cardstock and taped the base stencil to it. (This first layer is used for building both the front or back jean jacket image.)

  • Sponged  “Tumbled Glass” Distress Oxide ink over this first layer.

  • Taped the second layer over the first and sponged “Faded Jeans” Distress Oxide ink over it.

  • Taped the third stencil layer over the second and sponged “Chipped Sapphire” Distress Oxide ink over it.
  • Adhered the finished jean jacket image to the copper cardstock layer.
  • Using the Spellbinders Cruisin” by to Say . . . Clear Stamp & Die Cutting Set, stamped the sentiment, “I Like Your Style” with blue ink on to white cardstock.
  • Die cut it our using one of the sentiment strip dies included in this set and foam mounted it above the shirt.
  • Stamped the second sentiment, “Happy Father’s Day,” with black ink onto copper cardstock.
  • Die cut the sentiment out using the same sentiment strip die and adhered it above the shirt pocket.

  • Added a copper brad to the pocket flap for the finishing touch!
