Today’s card is a very quick posting . . . I wanted to enter it into this week’s “Color Throwdown Challenge” and into the Mama Elephant Guest Design Call. I was able to include elements for both challenges in this card, plus I got to use Kat Scrappiness‘s “Diamond Wire Fence Die” yet again. I love this die!
This week’s colors were black, copper, and white — such a striking combination!
I die cut the diamond wire fence die from black card stock and adhered it to a copper card stock layer, before mounting it on a black A2 card base. I found a StampinUp! “French Script” background stamp in my stash that I used to heat emboss using copper embossing powder onto a diagonally cut layer of black card stock, then adhered it over the fence layer.
I die cut Poppy Stamp‘s “Lorelai Leaf” die twice using black card stock. I used copper pigment ink and skimmed the surface of the leaves before adhering them to the front of the card.
The final touch was a “hello” sentiment from Mama Elephant’s “Words Defined” stamp set, again heat embossed with copper embossing powder onto a scrap of white card stock. I found a paper clip in my stash, heat set it with the copper embossing powder, and then used it to secure my sentiment to the front of the card.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card!
Those colors together come across as very masculine.
Very stunning design! Love your take on the throwdown colors!
