There’s an old saying — “Good fences make good neighbors,” and today’s card is a tongue-in-cheek expression of this adage. Why not send a “Hello” to your neighbor on the other side of your fence? The new Simon Says Stamp “Beautiful Flowers” set and the Kat Scrappiness “Wood Grain Framed Diamond Wire Die” paired nicely together to create this unique “outside the fence” (LOL!) card. The technique on this card was inspired by this video by Jennifer McGuire, in which she showed how to brush white “Perfect Pearls” pigment powder over images stamped in VersaMark clear pigment ink to create beautiful “pearly, metallic-like” flowers.

All the card “ingredients”. Note I switched out the “friends” die in this photo for an “hello” die instead.

I used this technique with Simon’s “Beautiful Flowers” images stamped on SSS 100# black cardstock and then used a Swifter dust cloth to clear away the excess pigment powder.

I ran the Kat Scrappiness wire fence die through my Big Shot using Xcut’s “Adhesive Metal Effect Sheets” silver cardstock. I cut off the right side of the fence before adhering it to another piece of black card stock.

After fussy cutting out the SSS flowers and leaves, I adhered them to the left side of the fence, popping up the top flower with Scrapbook Adhesives “3D Foam Squares.”

I die cut the “hello” sentiment twice from some bright salmon colored cardstock I found in my stash using Simon Says Stamp’s “Painted Hello Wafer die” and layered them on top of a third layer cut from black cardstock to give the sentiment a shadow backdrop. I coated the “hello” with “Wink of Stella” clear glitter marker and then adhered the it near the bottom of the card.

I cut a narrow strip of the same bright salmon cardstock and adhered it to the left side of a SSS “Slate Gray” A2 card base and then adhered the finished top layer over it.

Finishing touches? A custom made “Nubble Fence” sign for the top of the fence and a few Pretty Pink Posh “Sparking Clear Jewels.”

I hope you enjoyed today’s card!
