Holiday Cards Galore!

Hey Everyone! I admit I went just a little crazy making Holiday cards with so many of the amazing goodies from Kat Scrappiness‘s latest release.

Nothing says Christmas like “stockings hung by the chimney with care.” The Kat Scrappiness “Christmas Stocking Banner Die” was so much fun to work with.

Let’s take a look at two cards I made with it.

Card #1:

For this card , I removed two of the six stockings so I could fit them on the front of an A2 size card, which I die cut using the largest of the Kat Scrappiness “Cross Stitched Rectangle Dies“. I inked the background with the Distress Oxide “Fire Brick Red” through a brick patterned stencil. I created the mantle out of wood grain paper and inked it up with several brown Distress Oxide inks. I had fun “dressing” the stocking with patterned paper and of course, fur. LOL! The sentiment is from the Kat Scrappiness “Merry Critters” die.

Card #2:

This time I used all six stocking on an 7″ x 4.25 card base. The brick background for this card was created using texture paste tinted with a Distress Oxide “Pumice Stone” reinker and spread it over the same stencil as the previous card. I dressed the stockings with black velvet card stock, black/gray/white buffalo plaid paper, and burlap. Snowflake sequins from the Kat Scrappiness “Snow Flurries Sequin Mix” collection were my finishing touch.

For Cards #3 & 4, I used images and sentiments from the Kat Scrappiness “Merry Critters” stamp set again.

Card #3:

Rudolph is working over time hauling Santa’s gifts on Christmas Eve. For the night sky, I used texture paste over a snowflake stencil on metallic navy card stock. The Kat Scrappiness “Ho Ho Ho Brush Script and Word Sentiment” die completed this card.

Card #4:

For this card I made a “collage” scene with the “Merry Critters” stamp images, and Copic colored them before fussy cutting them out. I used patterned paper inside each area of the die cut collage frame before foam mounting the critters, the tree, and the gifts. The two sentiments, also from the “Merry Critters” stamp set. are white heat embossed.

Card #5 was such a clean & simple card to make using the Kat Scrappiness “Holly Leaves & Berries” dies.

I used one of the holly leaves dies to cut two matching leaves out of red/black buffalo plaid paper. I also cut out two eyes and a nose from some of the berry dies. The card stock layers were cut with the Kat Scrappiness “Cross Stitched Rectangle” dies. The “Merry Christmas” sentiment is from the “Merry Critters” stamp set.

For Card #6, I used two new dies, “Fancy Floral Cover Plate” die and “Happy Holidays Brush Script and Word Sentiment” die.

This was a super easy card to make! I simply die cut the “Fancy Floral Cover Plate” from gold card stock and adhered it to a bright red card stock under layer. Then I die cut the “Happy Holidays” die from green card stock and adhered it on a gold strip and placed it across the center of the card. The Kat Scrappiness “Christmas Cheer” sequins, scattered about, were the finishing touch.

And for my final card I used one of the just released Kat Scrappiness “Crafters Essentials Winter Dies,” which includes this A2 sized “Cut & Emboss Stitched Snowflake Swirl Background die,” combined with the Kat Scrappiness “Happy New Year” die.

I ran this really unique background die through the Big Shot the first time to die cut it out on navy metallic card stock, with a 2nd pass through using a silicone embossing pad to add the raised snowflakes you can see in the final card. I die cut the “Happy New Year” sentiment out of sliver glitter card stock and adhered it to the front of the card. Finishing touches? I tinted the white snowflake sequins from the Kat Scrappiness “Snow Flurries Sequin Mix” silver and sprinkled them across the front of the card.
