Hi Everyone, it’s Priscilla here. I’ve been having fun lately playing with non-traditional colors for holiday cards, so today I thought I’d show you some traditional and not-so-traditional color combos for both Christmas and Hanukkah cards.
My first card is a Christmas one in traditional red and green.
I used the new Kat Scrappiness “Merry Christmas with Shadow Die” as the focal point. It’s quite impressive and basically fills the front of an A2 size card in landscape orientation.I die cut patterned paper for the shadow and gold foil card stock for the sentiment. The background was created using an embossing folder and green card stock. Three of Kat‘s “Christmas Red” sequins finished this card.
My second card uses the same “Merry Christmas with Shadow Die”, but this time with an olive green and black color combo . . . a bit of an unexpected Christmas color combo!
Kat’s “Gold Jewels” finished this card.
On to Hanukkah cards! I used the more traditional colors of blue and gold for my first card.
The new Kat Scrappiness “Happy Hanukkah with Shadow Die” is the focal point. The sentiment was die cut out of navy card stock and the shadow was cut from a shimmery gold. My beautiful background paper is actually an “official” Hanukkah patterned paper from my local PaperSource store. The gold sequins are built right into the paper!
Ok, now onto my non-traditional color combination for a Hanukkah card.
Once again I used the “Happy Hanukkah with Shadow Die,” but this time with cobalt blue and yellow to match the bright and bold patterned background behind it. Would you believe this background is actually a plastic Hanukkah tablecloth from a party goods store?
Here’s all four cards together.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Don’t forget to check out what’s NEW in Kat’s Shop, and follow my blog and Instagram for more “Kat Scrappiness Amazingness”!
