Each month, Copic Markers challenges its users to create in three colors only. For April, the marker colors were E04, E41, and E47, all members of Copic’s “Earth tone” family. I challenged myself to color the Mama Elephant “Botanic Hello” stamped image with only these three colors and/or blending combinations of them.
Using the MISTI stamp positioner, I stamped the image on to Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# card stock using VersaFine “Onyx Black” pigment ink and then heat embossed it with Brutus Monroe’s “Icicle” (clear) embossing powder. I colored the entire image with the three April Copic Marker colors (E04, E41, and E47), shading and blending these three colors throughout. Next, I placed the image back into the MISTI, and re-stamped it with same black pigment ink, and again heat embossed it using the clear embossing powder for a raised dimensional look.
I fussy cut the image out and then foam-mounted it to a panel that was die cut from a cherry wood veneer envelope I had in my stash. To give the cherry wood a more “aged” look, I burnished the edges with Tim Holtz’s “Gathered Twigs” Distress Oxide ink. I adhered both layers to an A2 card base of Simon Says Stamp’s “Cotton Candy” card stock.
For finishing touches, I sprinkled a few chocolate brown sequins on the card and added a Simon Says Stamp matching “Cotton Candy” A2 envelope.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card!
