“May Your Coffee Have Coffee!”. Yep, this sentiment in the Essentials by Ellen (Ellen Hutson) stamp set, “Leading Ladies – Hot Mess Lady” pretty much sums up my morning. One cup is never enough, and sometimes neither is two. LOL! I used this “Hot Mess Lady” in today’s card, with colors inspired by the latest Ellen Hutson Color Trend Challenge.
I started by stamping our lady on Neenah 80# white card stock using Momento black (copic-friendy) ink, and then colored just her hair and skin. I purposely tinted her skin a “coffee” color to follow along with the card’s theme. I used the stamp’s coordinating die to cut her out, and then put her aside while I worked on “making” her clothes,
I took an unique approach to “dressing” this lady. By that I mean I printed out the jpeg mage of the challenge colors chart twice onto to white card stock and then stamped our lady on to to one copy. This way I could dress her in the actual stripes printed on the chart. I did the same for all those coffee thermal mugs on the other printed copy, plus her planner, calendar, and file folder. LOL!
Next, I fussy cut out her outfit and adhered it onto the previous stamped and Copic colored image of the lady. I used the stamp set’s coordinating coffee thermal mug die to cut out all those mugs and accessories.
Once I was finished with these images, I created the A2 card base with Neenah 110# pound white card stock and adhered a layer of green card stock I had in my stash for a matte border.
Finally, I stamped the “Messy Bun” sentiment onto a piece of Neenah white 80# card stock and adhered the lady, her accessories, and that huge stack of coffee mugs on to the front of the card.
Finishing touches? I stamped the coffee sentiment on to the front of her sweater and added a little shimmer to the mugs with a Wink of Stella clear glitter marker.
I hope you enjoyed today’s cards!
Such a great “feel good” card.
