Happy Tuesday Crafters! Priscilla here from Nubble Light Designs. I am slowing coming back from my hand surgery I had two months ago. It feels good to be back in my craft room although creating a card with my dominant hand still in a partial cast can be tricky.
For my first card, I created a Mother’s Day card with a clean and simple feel and lots of white space highlighted with a butterfly background die and a dry embossing technique.I used the Kat Scrappiness Butterfly Backdrop Die and Fluttering By Stamps/Dies to make today’s card.
Card Details:
- Created an A2 top-folding black card base.
- Used one of the Embossed Edge Circle Dies to die cut a small circle in a layer of white cardstock.
- Dry embossed the same cardstock with the Butterfly Backdrop Die by running it through my “Big Shot” with a rubber pad underneath so the die would only emboss, not cut.
- Adhered this finished white cardstock layer to the front of the card.
- Sponged shades of yellow Distress Oxide inks on the cut out circle, stamped it with black ink and a “webbed” stamp image, and adhered inside the circle opening.
- Stamped the layered butterfly image with the same yellow Distress Oxide inks first, then with Versafine black pigment ink , and finally with Versamark clear ink and die cut out with the coordinating die.
- Popped up the butterfly inside the circle with a foam strip.
- Stamped “Happy Mother’s Day” on a strip of cardstock sponged with yellow Distress Oxide ink using Versafine black pigment ink.
- Added 5 Onyx Black Pearls for the finishing touch,
