Hello! It’s Priscilla from Nubble Light Designs, back again as a guest designer this month for Casual Fridays Stamps. Today I have a playful card for you that combines coffee and alcohol. Let’s face it . . . oftentimes, either one (or both, LOL!) makes “everything okay”, right? To make this card, I used three Casual Fridays products: the “Cup of Coffee” stamp set with its coordinating “Coffee Cup Fri-Dies,” and the “Hot Coffee” stamp set.
I started by creating this messy “coffee stained” background with a stencil, Kraft card stock, and Distress Ink in “Ground Espresso” (how appropriate, right?), even misting it with some water to add to the chaos.
Then I used the sentiment from the “Coffee Cup Fri-Dies” set to die cut out the word “coffee” several times from the background, adding two more layers to them to create a more “3-D” look.
After adhering them back into place on the card, I die cut my coffee cup out of patterned paper and then heat embossed the sentiments on the front. I created the “bubbles” using clear droplets and then added a “twist of lime” by googling this phrase, printing out an image of one, and cutting it out.
All that was left was an easy assembly of all these elements on my card front. And then I couldn’t forget the inside of the card! That “coffee” I’m drinking ensures “everything will be okay.” Shhh . . .
Here’s a final look at my card with the Casual Fridays products I used.
