Sympathy cards are never fun to make, but sadly, sometimes necessary. Today I got to break out this stamp from Stampin’Up! called “Heartfelt Blooms”. I love the “photographic” look to this stamp and subtle statement it makes on the front of the card. Perfect for a somber occasion.
I inked the bloom with Hero Art’s “Soft Granite” shadow ink onto Neenah solar white 80# cardstock. The sentiment was stamped in Versafine’s “Onyx Black” ink and highlighted with Brutus Monroe’s “Icicle” ultra-fine embossing powder. I mounted the stamped image onto a layer of Simon Says Stamp “Black” card stock (both layers were die cut with MFT’s “Stitched Rectangle STAX” dies) and then mounted them both onto an A2 sized card base from Stampin’Up!’s “Basic Gray” card stock. Three simple black enamel dots finished out this clean & simple card.
Of course, I had to make a complimentary envelope to accompany the card, so I used the Simon Says Stamp’s “Envelope Liner Wafer Die” to embellish the envelope flap. I added a strip of the same gray card stock that was used as the card base to line the inside of the flap, so the gray color peeked through.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card!
