Who says a chihuahua dog can’t drive a bus? He certainly can when it’s a “Taco Bus”! I had a lot of fun putting this unlikely “driver” in the driver’s seat, while combining Simon Says Stamp’s “School Bus Messages” stamp set with their exclusive “Taco Party” stamp set. (I received “Taco Party” as a “freebie” during my birthday month from Simon Says Stamp.)
To make it look like the chihuahua from the “Taco Party” set was actually driving the bus, I had to do a little masking. I masked out the front frame of the bus and then stamped the chihuahua across the windshield, positioning him more to the right so he looked like he was driving.
I then colored the whole image (bus and dog) with Copic markers. I stamped the “Tacos!” signage on the front of the bus and the “that’s how we roll” sentiment from Simon‘s “Tilted Banner Sayings” on the front bumper. I ran the finished bus image through my “Big Shot” machine with the coordinating die.
To make the background for this card, I sponged “Tumbled Glass,” “Hickory Smoke,” and “Black Soot” Distress Oxide inks onto an A2 card base.
For the inside of the card, I stamped more sentiments from “Taco Party” and some chili peppers and limes.
Finishing touches? I added some “Glossy Accents” to the bus lights and the chihuahua’s sombrero and die cut some small clouds for the sky in the background. And of course, because our driver is speeding to make his next taco delivery, die cut chili peppers and limes are flying out the back of the bus! LOL!
I hope you enjoyed todays’s card!
