There’s something kind of fun with just pouring random paints onto paper and calling it “art”. Today I did my first “paint pour” background using Tim Holtz Distress Paints. The finished background really showed off the coloring I did on the Trinity Stamp image, “Succulent Banner.” This stamp and its accompanying sentiments were perfect to make a “Welcome to the Neighborhood” card.
I started this project by picking out Distress Paints that would match the Copic coloring I had done on the succulent image. I chose the “Festive Berries,” “Peeled Paint,” “Pine Needles,” and “Forest Moss” paints from the Tim Holtz Distress Paint collection, and just randomly poured them all over my card panel and then let them dry overnight.
Next, I die cut the colored succulent image with Trinity‘s coordinating die, stamped the “Welcome” sentiment on the banner, and then adhered it to a small panel of white card stock, die cut with the Simon Says Stamp “Wonky Rectangles” die. I foam mounted this layer onto the front of an A2 size side-folding card base.
On the inside, I stamped the succulent again using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in “Peeled Paint” and added the sentiment “To the Neighborhood” in Verafine “Onyx Black” ink above it.
Finishing touches? I added “Wink of Stella” clear glitter marker and “Glossy Accents” on some of the succulents.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card!
