Using Strips from a Coordinating Paper Pad to Create a Card Background

Hello Crafty Friends! Priscilla here from Nubble Light Designs. Today I am sharing a “whale” of a fun ocean-themed birthday card. I used a coordinating paper pad from the Kat Scrappiness “Friends Under the Sea” collection to cut multiple strips of  paper of various lengths to create a textured background. It turned out to be the perfect backdrop for an adorable whale image and coordinating sentiment!

I used the Kat Scrappiness Friends Under the Sea stamp set/dies and the Friends Under the Sea paper pad to make today’s card.

Card Details:

  • Adhered them to the front of the card, leaving the same distance between each strip.
  • Ran the front of the card through my Big Shot machine using a bubble embossing folder from my stash to add texture.

  • Adhered the whale and sentiment to the front of the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Don’t forget to check out what’s NEW in Kat’s Shop, and follow my blog, Instagram, and Facebook for more “Kat Scrappiness Amazingness”!
