Coffee Oasis Charity Blog Hop | Kat Scrappiness “Crafters Essentials-Winter” Dies

I am excited to be participating in the “Coffee Oasis Blog Hop”.  Make sure you scroll to the end and and “hop along” to see what other Kat Scrappiness Designers have made.

All three of my cards today feature the Kat Scrappiness “Crafters Essentials-Winter” die set. I can’t get enough of this die set. In fact, I recently created four other cards with this die set here.

This set includes:

  • A2 sized “Cut & Emboss” Stitched Snowflake Swirl Background Die
  • Two stitched snow drifts/hills
  • One die with three pine/Christmas trees
  • One deer die

For my first card,  I went BOLD! Why not have a bright red background to set off the falling snow?

To begin, I sponged Distress Oxide ink in “Candied Apple” on the front of the card, and then spread white texture paste through a snow stencil. When it was dried I added the die cut snow drifts, the pines tress, and the deer (sporting a red nose, of course.). Note: I created the snow drifts by running white card stock through my “Big Shot” with the “Cut & Emboss” Stitched Snowflake Swirl Background Die and then running that die cut piece through again using the stitched snow drift die. The “let is snow” sentiment is from Lawn Fawn’s “Winter Scripty Sentiments” stamp set.

For my second card, I sponged Distress Oxide ink in “Stormy Sky” over a birch tree stencil from my stash to create this winter scene.

I followed the same steps as the first card to create the snow drifts. A bright red reindeer (why not?), and coordinating red card stock layer,  and a red heated embossed sentiment from the same Lawn Fawn stamp set complete this card.

For my final card, I again used the Kat Scrappiness “Crafters Essentials-Winter” die set, including the “Cut & Emboss” Stitched Snowflake Swirl Background Die to created the sky.

I was gong for a dramatic look, so I kept everything white except the deer, which I die cut from black & red check “Buffalo Plaid” patterned paper. I heat embossed a sentiment from my stash, “Winter Wishes,” in platinum embossing powder.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how these three winter-themed cards came together using the Kat Scrappiness “Crafters Essentials-Winter” die set.
