Finding Inspiration for a Wedding Card from the Invitation

Happy Tuesday! Priscilla here from Nubble Light Designs. I always enjoy making wedding cards for friends by using their invitation as my inspiration. Not only do I mimic the color scheme but also the graphics/theme on the invite so the recipients know it was created specifically for their wedding. For today’s card, I used shades of pink and green and included a floral background similar to their invite.

I used Joy Clair Designs’s Song of Solomon clear stamp collection to make today’s card.

Card Details:

  • Created an A2 portrait card base using white smooth card stock.
  • Stenciled a floral pattern on a white cardstock layer using Distress “Worn Lipstick” Oxide Ink and then adhered to card base.
  • Die cut a foliage frame using a dark green cardstock and sprinkled white acrylic paint on it before adhering it to the floral layer.
  • Die cut a pink heart and sponged Distress “Worn Lipstick” Oxide Ink on the edges.

  • Stamped the couple image from the Song of Solomon stamp set using black pigment ink heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
  • Stamped the sentiment “All because two people fell in love” from the Song of Solomon stamp set and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
  • Adhered several soft pink pearls on the front of the card for a finishing touch.
